11.11.11. Documentation Sharing
22:38
Hi to everybody who took part in documenting 11.11.11

Do not forget to post the address of of your photo albums on the Comment Wall.
Our American partners are almost ready to look at our albums and post comments to them.

Here is the letter from the American teacher from Kansas Lesa Childers.
Hello!

We have shared our 11/11/11 documentation primarily through the One Day on Earth web site. You can view our classroom page on One Day on Earth here:
http://www.onedayonearth.org/group/mrs-childers-tech-lit-classes?xg_source=activity

Students have added comments to the comments wall indicating that they have content ready to be viewed.

You can click on each student's profile to view her work, unless she links to another page (this was the case with all audio files -- they were uploaded to my classroom blog). So far, I am pleased with the work. There is a lot of repetition, as many of these girls were side by side documenting the same subject matter throughout much of the day, but there is also a style and unusual perspective that emerges in the work of some of the more thoughtful students. It's been an interesting (though at times exhausting) experiment.

My students are currently looking at the documentation of others, on One Day on Earth and on the iEARN album. We have not yet loaded images to the iEARN album because I am still struggling with finding time to create individual accounts for all 69 students (there is no bulk account creation on that site). We will try to get to this. They are working on a reflections exercise where they examine their own documentation of the day and that of others, and then reflect on patterns, comparisons / contrasts, surprises, etc.

One of the final steps is for them to examine the specific documentation of our international partners and comment on it. We hope afterward to have a dialogue with all of you.

Will all of you have work ready for us to view soon? Where will you be posting? We can use the wiki to share among ourselves, if you all would like that. However, there are wonderful opportunities for commenting and sharing on the One Day on Earth web site; we could perhaps reserve the wiki for having a dialogue amongst ourselves. Let me know your thoughts. We are completely finished with the class on 12/12. I'd like to have our dialogue by early next week if possible.

Thanks to all of you and we really look forward to viewing your students' work!
